We have gone from having health insurance that was second to none to having health insurance that none would have for a second. There is absolutely no excuse for this as we paid more than enough to have the kind of insurance the world would envy. Where is the insurance we pay for?

Our pension has been savagely and callously slashed for no reason. There is no reason that we shouldn't get $7,000 a month. Please recognize that while our Central States administered pension has been slashed, none of the other funds have been slashed. The real shame of the matter is that the Teamsters never intended to give you a fair pension. The Teamsters had you satisfied with getting less than 50% of your pension and it seems that even that was not enough; of course that was $3,000 a month when you should have been getting $7,000 a month. How much is going to be enough? You have heard from UPS Vice President John McDevitt that you are only getting 40% of the money that is paid in for you. GOD only asks that you give 10%.

You have gone from having a union twenty five years ago that would stand up for you to a union which does not care about you. What good is it to make good money if you have to live at the doors of hell to earn it? Aren't you tired of paying your hard earned money to someone that thinks you work for them instead of them working for you? Wouldn't you like to have a union that not only works for you but understands that YOU are the boss and actually thrives while working for you? You can have such a union if you help us put it in place.

We would like to load all of you on our backs and carry you but we cannot do it this time. This is a battle that we cannot win by ourselves. By ourselves we can do nothing - with YOU there is nothing we cannot do! The Teamsters are banking on the fact that YOU will not stand up to them and if you do not GOD Himself only knows where this will stop. Remember they cut your pension one time; what's to stop them from doing it again? It is time for you to STAND TALL NOW if you want to have a pension.

For those of you who are waiting for the company to "get" the pension-let us assure you there are two ways the company can "get" the pension. One is for Central States and the Teamsters to give the pension to the company; the way we figure it you have a better chance of the gates of hell freezing shut. Two is for Congress to take the pension away from Central States and the Teamsters and award it to the companies. This will not happen until the pension fund is in a lot worse shape than it is now.

IT IS TIME to fix what is wrong with our pension, health care and union. This can only happen if you are brave enough to stand up to the Teamsters and Central States and tell them enough is really MORE than enough. Tell them you will NOT let them destroy our health care, pension and the security of our families, which is why we work in the first place. Its time to "STAND TALL NOW!"
